SAOPA hereby wishes to inform you that it has officially terminated its relationship with ProfNet. We also wish to advise you that there is no need for you to register with ProfNet, as all relevant services you may need will be provided directly by SAOPA going forward.
SAOPA is a professional, non-profit entity that was established expressly to look after the needs of O&P services providers and their patients. All fees paid by members are applied directly for their own benefit.
As custodians of the profession, we urge you not to make any rash decisions involving paid subscriptions with profit-seeking organisations.
It is important to note that SAOPA is working on updating the industry codes. We are the only body with the authority to do so.

1. Do I have to register with PNM to retain my SAOPA benefits?
No, Benefits are merely sourced from different service providers to negotiate value-add offerings to membership. (As a requirement of good governance and to fulfil our responsibility towards membership and uphold our commitment to protect and advance member’s interests SAOPA is constantly reviewing and on the look-out for additional relevant member benefits)
2. How does it affect my Malpractice Insurance?
Your cover remains in place and active. SAOPA has investigated different offerings to provide members with appropriate value cover. The different options are being finalised and will be made available to membership to choose from upon the concurrent opening of the renewal of membership for 2020.
3. Where do I find (access) O & P coding and tariffs?
As a SAOPA member you have access to the different funder and administrators coding and tariff files and can easily search for procedure, professional and component information. Exciting additional features including billing guidelines and clinical protocols will be available to members
4. What is SAOPA’s goal/position?
