Dear Member

The SAOPA board and executive office would like to wish you a prosperous, successful and blessed 2020!  May these words of Winston Churchill inspire you to be positive and motivated in this coming year:

“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.”

We would like to use this opportunity to assure you once more of the association’s commitment, compassion and concern for your wellbeing in the orthotics and prosthetics environment.  As your custodians, our efforts and activities remain focused on the many challenges that the industry is experiencing at the moment. More important, though, we keep working to accumulate sustainable assets and benefits for you as members.

The health environment has become extremely complex. There is a need for skilled, experienced, knowledgeable and visionary individuals to advocate, promote and protect members’ interests on all levels of orthotic and prosthetic practice.  SAOPA distinguishes itself by offering its members a team of experts who do exactly that.

The non-executive board includes full-time practitioners with joint experience of over 180 years. Their expertise covers the whole orthotic and prosthetic spectrum, from off-the-shelf items to the most advanced prostheses.

The board is complemented by a panel of carefully selected consultants who provide administrative, legal and regulatory, coding and communication support and guidance.

Finally, Tanya le Roux, chairperson of SAOPA for the past five years, has been tasked to bring her considerable skills and experience to the executive office once a week.  Her exposure as such to the industry and its various stakeholders is invaluable in understanding not only the challenges and complexities that the different role players face, but the impact thereof on practitioners and the profession as a whole.

We encourage you to remain part of a national orthotic and prosthetic voice by renewing your membership.  Stay on top of happenings and activities, events, industry news, coding and billing updates, training and education, practice management tools and much more.

Interested in what SAOPA is up to in the next month? Be sure not to miss our next communication!

For the love of the orthotics and prosthetics profession and its patients!”
