SAOPA is excited to announce the upcoming Annual Online Workshop and AGM, a key event on our professional calendar. This year’s program again promises to be dynamic, relevant, and engaging, designed to bring together not only our members but also colleagues from across the wider profession.

The workshop will be CPD accredited (planned for 5 CEU’s), ensuring meaningful professional development with a variety of expert-led presentations, practical insights, and opportunities for collaboration. As always, the SAOPA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will form an integral part of the program and will be open to all attendees, reflecting our commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and the growth of the profession.

Following on feedback from our previous online workshop, the event has been reduced to a half-day even only (with more monthly webinars added for additional CPD opportunities and exposure).

Every two years, the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) invites professionals involved in the care of persons in need of prosthetic, orthotic, mobility, and assistive devices to its unique and interactive flagship meeting, the ISPO World Congress.

The event theme will be Science in Practice, Practice in Science: Collaboration and innovation towards sustainable rehabilitation.

SAOPA Student Program

SAOPA offers a unique opportunity for fourth-year O&P students to participate in our new student program. This program allows students to become sponsored Student Members of the association, giving them access to resources and networking opportunities within the industry. Additionally, the program provides students with the chance to showcase their work by submitting it for publication on the SAOPA learning platform where peers can access it. This program is an excellent way for students to gain exposure to the orthotics and prosthetics industry, further their education, and network with professionals in the field.
